The Modified V on the bottom only appears on the actual rake of the boat, which is out of the water. This allows the boat to have a flat bottom when going skinny and a wave cutter when traversing rougher seas.
 The V Rake tapers to nothing just at the surface of the water so it doesn't interfere with shallow water performance.
